Wine tourism in Burgundy offers a rich experience for wine lovers and travelers interested in wine culture. Burgundy is one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, renowned for its elegant red wines produced from the Pinot Noir grape variety and its exceptional white wines made from Chardonnay. Here are some ideas for discovery:
Tastings at the Maison Rouge
I can offer tasting evenings in the house’s cellar (by reservation, depending on dates and minimum number of people). A selection of local wines accompanied by tasting boards will be served to you. A friendly evening without having to travel!
Burgundy vineyard climates
The Burgundy vineyard climats have been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2015. These carefully demarcated plots of vines are renowned for producing some of the best wines in the world. The wine-growing villages of Côtes de Nuits like Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey St Denis, or Nuits St Georges, as well as those of Côtes de Beaune like Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny, Pommard, Meursault, and up to Santenay are emblematic of this wine tradition.
Winery visits
Explore the wine estates and castles that dot the region. Many properties offer guided tours of their cellars, allowing you to learn about the winemaking process and taste a selection of their wines. Others, smaller, offer tastings and sales and will talk to you about their vines and their wines with passion!
